Welcome to the Mayor’s Charity Ball

Published10th January 2018

If you want to listen to fine music, eat delicious food and help three local charities while you are doing so, the Mayor of Ipswich would like you to get in touch.

Tickets are now on sale for Mayor Sarah Barber’s Charity Ball in the appropriately named Grand Hall of the Corn Exchange.

It’s all happening on Saturday 24th March and the evening starts at 7pm with a Mayoral Reception, with music provided by Manoj and Bollywood Touch to add spice to a glittering occasion. Then there is a four-course dinner with a goat’s cheese tartlet, rib of beef or spiced vegetable tagine and a choice of desserts taking pride of place at table.

A traditional tombola and auction and an opportunity to dance to the amazing Soul Riot Band will round off the evening.

Ticket prices have been pegged at £65 (£600 for a table of 10, so invite work colleagues, friends or families).

The Mayor’s Charities, which will benefit from the event, are the Ipswich Hospital Charity, Families in Need (FIND) and Lighthouse Ipswich Women’s Aid.

The Mayor said: “The annual Charity Ball is one of the highlights of the Ipswich calendar and Luke, my consort, and I are looking forward to meeting many new people at the Corn Exchange. It’s all in a good cause, so what are you waiting for?”
