Both the Regent Theatre and Corn Exchange are located in the wonderful county town of Ipswich. Visit our ‘Getting Here’ page for directions, parking and public transport information.
Yes, in most cases. We’ll do all we can to make sure you can still enjoy the show, even if you’re on the drag (‘running late’, for you non-Suffolk folk!).
We may hold latecomers in the foyer for a short amount of time, before seating at an appropriate moment (including the interval) to minimise disruption to both performers and other audience members. To avoid disruption, you may be asked to sit in alternative seats until the interval, when you can then move to your seats.
It’s completely up to you. If you fancy dressing up for the occasion please do, but if you want to wear jeans and a t-shirt, you are equally as welcome. There’s no dress code at either venue.
I’m afraid not. The use of any recording device is not allowed inside the auditorium during a show. It’s very distracting to other audience members and for performers on stage. We ask that you sit back, relax and leave the screen in your pocket or bag while you enjoy the show.
Most of our performances include a 20 minute interval part way through the show. Take this opportunity to grab an ice-cream or drink from one of our bars, or have a quick nap before the second half starts.
If there is no interval, we’ll do our best to let customers know before the show starts.
Show-related merchandise is available for most nationally touring shows, however we cannot guarantee this for every performance. If merchandise is available, it will be set up to the right of the box office in the front foyer.
No. The Regent Theatre and Corn Exchange are both non-smoking venues and this includes e-cigarettes.
As an audience member you should be considerate of your fellow theatregoers around you. If you stand up and dance you immediately block the view of those sat behind you which is unfair, especially if that person is unable to stand. Dancing isn’t prohibited but please be mindful of those around you. Please respect our staff if we politely ask you to remain seated.
We know it can be tempting when you know all the words, but please be mindful of those around you. You may consider yourself the next Ed Sheeran, but it can disturb those sat near you and spoil their enjoyment of the show. For some shows, there may a more appropriate time for you to sing along (for example during a finale, or where the performers on stage encourage audience interaction).
Some of our shows may contain strobe lighting, smoke or other special effects. Details of all special effects used in a performance are posted in the outer foyer before the show. If you need more information, please ask at the Box Office or speak to one of our Front of House team and we’ll be happy to help.
Yes, our booster seats are available on a first come first served basis. Either collect one from the Kiosk, or ask a member of our Front of House team to point you in the right direction.
The Regent Theatre is a large venue (East Anglia’s biggest theatre) and we want to create an intimate experience for our audience members and performers for every show. We sell seats in the front first and open additional seats as needed.
If you have specific access requirements, please contact our Box Office team on 01473 433100.
