Your chance to play at Ipswich Music Day

Published8th February 2022

It may be cold enough to be an Arctic Monkey but it’s time for aspiring musicians to book their place at Ipswich Borough Council’s Ipswich Music Day and have a chance of playing in front of thousands of people.

Christchurch Park will be packed with music fans of all ages and tastes on Sunday 3 July 2022 – all we need is a great line-up.

Whatever you play, whatever you sing, if you’re good enough we want to hear you. Please fill in an online application form and attach a link to your music, a description of yourself or your group and an image for the programme.

Applications open at 10am on Thursday 10 February 2022 and close at 3pm on Monday 21 March 2022. A selection committee will review all applications and let the successful ones know on Friday 29 April 2022. Unfortunately, so many people apply they cannot get in touch if you are not selected.

Ipswich Music Day from Ipswich Borough Council is the UK’s biggest free one-day music festival – there are no fees or expenses for performers but you do get to see what it’s like to play in front of a crowd of 35,000.

Ipswich Music Day will be 32 years old this summer and is brought to you again by the Council and its sponsors. There are six stages of live entertainment and music from local upcoming artists. It is a celebration of music, culture and local talent. As well as programmed stages we have fairground rides for children and adults, street food and a marketplace.

The sun always shines, so, whatever your genre, forget about Coldplay and think of becoming a Red Hot Chilli Pepper.

Please apply here for the chance to perform at Ipswich Music Day
