Set up a Direct Debit

You are here

Paying your regular council bills such as Council Tax, Rent and Business Rates by Direct Debit will save you time and make life easier. You can even pay some regular invoices by Direct Debit too.

All you have to do is give one simple instruction to your Bank or Building Society and they then ensure that the appropriate amount is transferred automatically from your account to the council's when it is due.

You will be notified in advance of the payments and their due dates, and you will be able to query a payment should you feel it is wrong, or stop it altogether; plus you can obtain a refund if an error is ever made on your account.

Easier and quicker:

  • No cheques to write or letters to post;
  • No queues;
  • Your Bank or Building Society does all the work - but you stay in control.
