Noise

No home is soundproof. It is normal to hear your neighbours or other noise originating from outside your home from time to time.

However, if the noise is persistent and unreasonable, and you have not been able to resolve the issue informally with the person or business making the noise, we can help.

Before reporting a noise nuisance, have you spoken to the person or business causing the noise?

Often issues arise because the person or business causing the issue are not aware that their behaviour is affecting you. If possible, talk to the person or business and try to resolve the issue. It is advisable to do this after the event and not while it is ongoing when emotions are high.

If you have been unable to resolve the issue informally with the person or business, you can report the issue to us.

Please provide as much information as possible. We are unable to accept anonymous requests. However, your details will be kept confidential and will not be shared with the person or business you are reporting.
