What is Household Support Fund
The Household Support Fund is a Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance with housing costs. This fund can help cover rent and service charges if you're facing difficulties.
Eligibility criteria
The Housing Support Fund can be awarded for the following circumstances:
- Rent Arrears (former and current) where other funds are not applicable
- Where tenants have not had a similar grant previously
- Arrears have accrued due to financial hardship
- Young people in support accommodation who are working
- Families in Temporary Accommodation who are working
- Where Discretionary Housing Payment requests are declined
- Service Charge
Application process
To be assessed for financial help, you’ll need to provide details of your income, expenditure, and bank statements. Housing Officers are actively reaching out to tenants who may qualify, but if you believe you could benefit from this fund, please contact your Housing Officer or the Housing Options or Customer Service team.
Exclusions
This fund does not cover mortgage payments. If you need assistance with mortgage difficulties, please contact your mortgage provider or the Housing Options team for additional support and advice.
