We will be issuing an update statement on our response to Coronavirus every Friday. From time to time there may be a need for major statements to be issued on other days. This page will be updated as and when new information emerges.

IBC Update - 24th March 2020

We have already introduced extensive changes to what we do and how we operate in response to the challenges of Coronavirus. However, following the announcement on 23rd March 2020 additional measures have been taken.

Ipswich Fit 

Monthly Direct Debit members

In order to suspend iCard memberships while our facilities are closed, we will be adjusting iCard members’ Direct Debits to £0 until further notice. Customers do not need to cancel their iCard Direct Debits with us or their banks. This means no payments will be taken on 1st April or 15th April and no further Direct Debits will be taken going forward until further notice. You do not need to do anything more at this stage.

Annual iCard members

Customers who have an Annual iCard and who have paid the full cost up front have the following choices:

  1. We can extend your membership by the number of weeks the facilities are closed for. This will be actioned at the end of the closure period and will be the default option
  2. If you want a partial refund, we will refund you 1/12th of the annual cost for each month where there is no access to the facilities.

You do not need to do anything at this stage as a member of staff will be in touch shortly.

Swimming Lesson Direct Debits

Monthly Direct Debit payers

We will be adjusting all swimming lesson Direct Debits to £0 until further notice. Customers do not need to cancel their iCard Direct Debits with us or their banks. This means no payments will be taken on 1st April and no further Direct Debits will be taken going forward until further notice. You do not need to do anything more at this stage.

Cash/Card paid swimming lessons

Those who have paid in cash or by card for swimming lessons will be given the following options:

  1. A voucher will be given corresponding to the number of weeks you have unused on your 10-week block, so you can continue those lessons when we re-open; or:
  2. A pro-rata refund commensurate to the number of weeks you have unused on your 10- week block will be given.

You do not need to do anything at this stage as a member of staff will be in touch shortly.

1:1 swimming lessons

Those that paid in cash or by card for swimming lessons will be given the following options;

  1. A voucher will be given for the amount you paid which you can redeem when we re-open, so your child can continue their swimming lessons; or:
  2. A pro-rata refund commensurate to the number of weeks you have unused on your six-week block will be given.

You do not need to do anything at this stage as a member of staff will be in touch shortly

Casually paid fitness classes/junior activities/racquet sport bookings

Those who have booked and paid for a fitness class, a junior activity or a court booking (including badminton, squash, table tennis and tennis) will be given the following options:

  1. A voucher will be given for the activity type you had booked and paid for which you can redeem when we re-open. We will then re-book the activity or class you had booked originally; or:
  2. A full refund on the activity or class for which you paid.

You do not need to do anything at this stage as a member of staff will be in touch shortly.

Junior Courses

All courses will re-start when we open and will continue from the week the course previously finished so your child will complete the full course.

Birthday Parties

All birthdays are postponed until 30th April. Those customers whose birthday parties are postponed will be given the following options:

  1. Rebook the party within the next year; or:
  2. Receive a full refund.

IBC Update - 20 March 2020

In response to the challenges of Coronavirus, Ipswich Borough Council has laid out its current position.

Public buildings will remain closed until at least 30th April. Many outdoor events due to be held before 1st August cancelled. Brown bin collections have been suspended immediately.

Ipswich Theatres

We will contact customers directly if any upcoming shows at the Ipswich Regent or Corn Exchange are cancelled or postponed, you can also check our website and social media feeds for updates.

If your tickets have been purchased from our website, our Box Office at the Regent Theatre, or the Ipswich Tourist Information Centre then the following will apply:

Postponed Shows

If a show is postponed then your tickets will automatically be transferred to the new date.

If the rescheduled date isn’t convenient, then you can contact us using our contact form to:

a. exchange your tickets for another show later this year
b. refund the value of your tickets to a gift voucher to spend when you feel ready to decide
c. refund via card

Cancelled Shows

If a show is cancelled then you can choose to:

a. exchange your tickets for another show later this year
b. refund the value of your tickets to a gift voucher to spend when you feel ready to decide
c. refund via card

We ask for your patience at this very busy time and would ask that you don’t call the box office or venues directly but instead use the contact us form on our website and we will respond as soon as possible.

If your tickets have been purchased from another ticket provider then please make contact with them to enquire about what will be happening.
