Ipswich is set to sparkle this month as the Town Hall, Corn Exchange, and Cornhill transform into a magical winter wonderland for the first-ever in-house Ipswich Town Hall Christmas Fayre, taking place on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 November.

Organised by Ipswich Entertains and supporting the raising of funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), the event promises a joyful weekend packed with festive cheer, unique gifts, live entertainment, and family fun. With over 60 stalls, a festive trail, Santa’s Grotto, and even Christmas film favourites screening, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Highlights include:

  • A bustling Christmas Market featuring handmade gifts, festive decorations, and seasonal treats from talented local makers and traders
  • Live performances from local choirs, schools, and community groups
  • Delicious food and drink, including mulled wine and winter favourites
  • Children’s activities with plenty to keep little ones entertained including a free festive trail across the Town Hall and Corn Exchange, and a visit to Santa’s Grotto
  • Special festive film screenings at King Street Cinema

The festivities will be officially opened by the Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor Stefan Long, who has chosen EACH as one of the chosen charities for his mayoral year.

Councillor Jane Riley, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Culture and Customers, says:

“Our first-ever Christmas Fayre in this iconic setting promises joy, entertainment and excitement for all ages. It’s being held just days after the official switch-on of the Ipswich Christmas lights, so even more of a sparkling start to the holiday season right in the heart of town.

“It’s a wonderful new addition to our festive calendar, bringing together the best of Ipswich’s creativity, community spirit, and seasonal joy. I’m proud to see our historic Town Hall come alive with celebration, and I encourage everyone to come along and make some magical memories.”

“Whether you’re looking to buy gifts, have a day out with family and friends, or simply want to soak up the atmosphere, the Ipswich Town Hall Christmas Fayre is not to be missed.”

Ali Butler, EACH’s Senior Community Fundraiser for Suffolk and East Essex, said:

“We’re so grateful for the opportunity presented to us by the Mayor and Ipswich Borough Council to be part of this very special celebration. Visitors will have the chance to donate and take part in special craft activities to show their support for EACH, and we look forward to welcoming them to our stall. It’s a golden opportunity to raise awareness of our vital work caring for children and supporting families across Suffolk and the rest of East Anglia.”

Opening times are 2pm – 7pm on Friday 21 November and 10am – 5pm on Saturday 22 November.
