Warning issued to residents about cosmetic treatment

Ipswich Borough Council’s Environmental Health team is issuing a warning to anyone considering Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL or sometimes called Liquid BBL) due to the non-surgical cosmetic procedure not currently being licensed or regulated in the UK.

The procedure carries the risk of life-changing medical problems and has the highest death rate of all cosmetic procedures.

According to NHS England, The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) has advised its members not to carry out this procedure. Locally in Ipswich, we are asking local beauty practitioners to stop performing or allowing these procedures on their premises.

To report any concerns about treatments in Ipswich, please contact our Environmental Health team by emailing: environmental.health@ipswich.gov.uk
