Ipswich Borough Council is delighted to announce that, following a successful trial, Crown Street Car Park will now permanently open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The move directly supports the Council’s commitment to creating a thriving, welcoming town centre - one where residents, workers, and visitors can enjoy Ipswich’s culture, food, shopping, and night-time attractions with greater ease and flexibility.
Offering secure, undercover, and well‑lit parking, Crown Street Car Park provides a monitored environment just minutes from the town centre. Its convenient location makes it ideal for those visiting shops, restaurants, theatres and entertainment venues any time of day or night.
The car park also includes EV charging facilities, supporting more sustainable travel choices and helping Ipswich build a greener future.
Extending the operating hours builds on the Council’s ambition to boost Ipswich’s night-time economy, encouraging more people to enjoy evenings out. It reflects the priorities set out in Ipswich Borough Council’s Corporate Strategy: Ensuring the town centre is vibrant, inclusive, and a great place to live, work, and visit.
