Ipswich Buses will introduce changes to some town and network fares from Sunday 19 July 2026. The changes are designed to help keep fares fair and affordable while ensuring the continued delivery of dependable local bus services.
We've worked hard to keep increases as low as possible while continuing to provide reliable bus services. But rising costs, including fuel and other operating expenses, mean some fares need to change.
Day, multi-journey and travel passes will continue to offer the best value for customers who travel regularly. As part of the changes, prices for travel passes are being aligned across the Ipswich Buses mobile app and smartcard platform where the same tickets creating greater consistency and simplicity for customers.

"This is a targeted review rather than a major overhaul of our fare structure. We've focused on keeping increases to commonly used tickets as low as possible and continue to provide great value through our day tickets, multi-journey bundles and travel passes.
"These changes help support the long-term sustainability of local bus services."
The new fares will come into effect on Sunday 19 July 2026.
