Ipswich is set to come alive with colour, music and global flavours this summer as once again the One Big Multicultural Festival returns to Alexandra Park on Sunday 30 August 2026.
Organised by award-winning charity BSC Multicultural Services in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council, the much-loved free festival promises an afternoon packed with live entertainment, international cuisine, sport and family-friendly activities from 12 noon onwards.
Now recognised as a highlight of the town’s cultural calendar, the festival attracts more than 5,000 visitors each year, bringing together communities from across Ipswich and beyond.
This year’s event promises to be the biggest yet, with an even more diverse programme of performances from locally, nationally and internationally recognised artists, alongside stalls, workshops and interactive activities celebrating cultures from around the world.
Visitors can enjoy a vibrant stage line-up of live music and dance, delicious food from across the globe, children’s funfair and family activities, hands-on cultural experiences including traditional sports such as Kabaddi, as well as face painting, henna art, and community stalls.
Councillor Neil MacDonald, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council, said:
“We’re delighted to once again support this year’s One Big Multicultural Festival, which has become a firm favourite in Ipswich’s events calendar with something for all ages – residents and visitors alike. Our town’s rich diversity is one of its greatest strengths, and this festival is a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate everything that makes Ipswich such a vibrant and inclusive place.”
