Kiss and Tell: Rodin and Suffolk Sculpture

School Sessions - February 2019

Building on the display of Auguste Rodin’s iconic masterpiece ‘The Kiss’ in Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich Museums are pleased to offer students a unique opportunity to explore the history of sculpture, the work of ‘the father of modern sculpture’ and our art collections with curators and professional artists.

We're hosting two weeks of free school sessions based around the world-famous artwork:

Secondary schools + post-16 education: 4-7 February 2019

Primary schools: 11-15 February 2019

Both sessions aim to support teachers' curriculum by providing:

  • An introduction from a member of museum staff
  • A workshop with a professional artist
  • Time in the exhibition to explore ideas and produce creative work through drawing
  • Time exploring the wider art collection at Christchurch Mansion

The primary school session will also have time exploring creative writing and can result in a Discover Arts Award for pupils.

The sessions run from 10am-2pm

Book by emailing joe.plumstead@colchester.gov.uk

Places allocated on first come first served basis
