Ipswich Borough Council has introduced easy cashless payments across all Council run Pay & Display car parks, meaning no more queuing at the ticket machines and no more displaying a ticket in your vehicle - it will all be done online!
Visitors will no longer have to carry the correct change to pay for parking with new machines being installed that take payments via smartphone, text message, website or telephone.
You will be able to buy virtual parking stays online using the MiPermit desktop portal or the MiPermit smartphone app - for more information, visit the MiPermit website.
By swapping coins for clicks, customers will be able to park quicker and easier as well as update their tickets on the go meaning that they can spend more time shopping for discounts.
Card, cash and contactless payments will also be accepted across all car parks.
Councillor Alasdair Ross, the Borough Council’s parking portfolio-holder, said: “Our aim is to make it as easy as possible for people to visit and park in our town, and the introduction of these new machines and payment options is set to do just that. Demand for this has been high and we’re delighted to be able to give residents and visitors what they want.”
