Apply for a parking dispensation
What is a parking dispensation?
A parking dispensation is a special permit which allows a vehicle to be parked where restrictions would not normally allow it.
When can a parking dispensation be issued?
Dispensations are only issued when there is no viable alternative. They are not intended for convenience parking or where other options are available. Dispensations can be issued in the following locations:
- Yellow lines
- Restricted Zones
- Loading bays
- Pay & Display bays
- Limited Waiting bays
- Suspended bays
- Blue Badge bays (in exceptional circumstances)
Please be aware that even if a dispensation has been issued, you may still be requested to move your vehicle by a Police Officer or Civil Enforcement Officer if your vehicle is causing an obstruction.
A notice period of at least four working days is required when making an application. An administration fee will be charged to process each application.
Dispensation administration fees:
On-street
- £15 per week (7 days)
Off-street
- £10 per day
- £25 per week (7 days)
Further extensions to the dispensation will require a new application to be made to allow the Council to review the parking safety and traffic conditions. Notice of intended renewals should be made two working days before the renewal date where possible.
