Mayor of Ipswich to Launch 2024 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

Published25th October 2024

The Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor Elango Elavalakan, will be officially launching the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal for 2024 this Saturday on the Cornhill, Ipswich. The event will feature a short ceremony starting at 12pm on the steps of the Town Hall, providing an opportunity for the community to come together and show their support.

The Poppy Appeal, a vital campaign run by the Royal British Legion, raises funds to support veterans and their families. Last year, the generous people of Ipswich raised over £100,000, and this year, the aim is to exceed that amount.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the launch and participate in this meaningful cause. The Royal British Legion will have stalls set up throughout the day, where you can purchase poppies and make donations to support this year’s appeal.

Show your support by attending the ceremony and visiting the Royal British Legion stalls. Together, let’s surpass last year’s total and make a positive impact for those who have served.
