Provides information on how to apply for a licence for Animal Boarding, Dog Breeding, Pet Shops, Riding Establishments and Dangerous Wild Animals.

To run a boarding kennel or cattery, you need a licence from the local authority.
Under the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976, you need a licence to keep many types of animals.
Any premises being used to run a business breeding dogs for sale must be licensed by the local authority.
Anyone selling animals as a business (including from a private dwelling) and keeping them with a view to being sold as pets must be licensed to keep a pet shop.
A licence is required before anyone can let a horse, pony or donkey out for hire.
If you want to run a zoo you must first get a licence from the Council.
