Advice on how to respond to major incidents and emergencies
During a major emergency, a 24-hour Emergency Control Centre will be in operation in order to coordinate the council's activities and to liaise with the emergency services.
If you are a local neighborhood or community group, assistance is available to develop your own Community Emergency Plan, which can help local people prepare for emergencies.
Householders living in areas that have been flooded in the recent past are strongly advised to give some thought to flood protection measures for their property.
