Use of photos and videos
Ipswich Borough Council sometimes takes photos and videos at Council events, activities and venues. These images/videos are used to promote the Council’s services in the following ways, for a period of five years from the date in which the photo/video was taken:
- In publications and display materials (including digital screens)
- In digital communications (including email newsletters)
- In the local and national press
- Other platforms
- On the Borough Council’s website
- On photo/video sharing sites like Flickr and YouTube as well as social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
Please note: Images published online can be viewed throughout the world.
Consent and storage
Where necessary, we obtain the subject's consent before photographing by getting them to fill in a consent form.
All photos and film footage will be stored securely and will not be kept for longer than five years from the date of the event.

Withdrawing or updating consent
You can withdraw your still/moving images from the photo library at any time by contacting the Communications & Marketing team at marketing@ipswich.gov.uk.
