Chief executive
Helen Pluck
Helen was appointed as the Council’s Chief Executive at Full Council on 22 February 2023, having been Interim Chief Executive since 1 February 2023 and Deputy Chief Executive for the previous ten years.
Between 2018 and her appointment as Interim Chief Executive, Helen also acted as the Managing Director of the Council’s wholly-owned companies.
Helen has previously held senior positions at Stockton Borough Council in the North-East and the Audit Commission.
Helen has been appointed to the Chief Executive role at a time of great challenge and opportunity for Ipswich and for the Council. She is passionate about making a difference to Ipswich and ensuring that the Council works well with partners and residents to shape the future of the town.
