A charge is payable when you send a Building Regulations application to the Council. The amount of the charge payable depends on the work which is to be carried out.
The charges we apply for Building Regulation applications are individually calculated and specifically tailored for each project. To request a quote please click the button below.
Please include any plans, specifications and structural designs that you have to enable a full appraisal and cost estimate of the works to be undertaken. We aim to respond within 2 working days, but in busier periods may take a bit longer. If you need to discuss anything with the Building Control Team then please email building.control@ipswich.gov.uk or call us on 01473 432951.
In most cases when an Approval with Full Plans application is made, fees are paid in two stages. A plan charge is required when the application is submitted. Once work had started you will be invoiced for the inspection charge. This inspection charge is a one off fee and will cover the remainder of the inspections, irrespective of the number of visits made (unless the scope of work changes from the original submitted application).
The total of the plan charge and inspection is to be paid on submission of the application; there will be no further charges made unless the scope of work changes from the submitted notice.
The total fee is payable with the submission of the application.
