By choosing Christchurch Mansion for your special occasion you are assured of a professional and friendly service.
The Mansion is available to hire in the evenings and is the ideal venue for many occasions. It will turn any function into a prestigious event.
The venue is licensed for weddings, renewal of vows, baby naming ceremonies and civil partnerships.
Arrangements can be made so that just part of the house is hired out, to suit your individual requirements, for weddings, corporate functions, birthday parties, presentations and murder mystery nights. Some rooms are available during the day for meetings and lectures.
Wedding ceremonies take place in the Lower Tudor Room, a dignified panelled room which can seat up to 45 people. There is easy access from the front reception doors. Wedding time slots start at 10am and finish at 4pm. Separate arrangements must be made to book the County Registrar, to whom a separate fee is payable.
An informal wedding tour is offered and recommended
We offer a personal service from the initial meeting with the couple right through to the delivery of the evening function. Access to the building is from 5pm when we close to the public and guests must leave by midnight. A list of caterers, musicians, photographers and florist are available on request, although we are unable to recommend a particular company. You may invite up to 150 people for a buffet or 60 people for a seated reception.
A meeting would be necessary in order to cover the finer details and the logistics of having your wedding reception here in the Mansion.
A commitment ceremony is a meaningful and dignified ceremony for adult couples. The purpose of the ceremony is to make a public declaration of life-long commitment, love and dedication between two people. The occasion can be shared with family and friends or the ceremony can be held in private without guests.
This ceremony is for any married couple wishing to renew their vows in a unique and personal ceremony. Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary.
A naming ceremony is a very special way to celebrate the birth of your child and welcome the newborn into the family and wider community. It is also ideal to welcome an adoptive child or to embrace stepchildren into the family by pledging your love and support for the child's future.
Please note that due to the nature of the building, maintenance work may need to be carried out at short notice.
