The Art Gallery shows exhibitions of international importance and provides a unique stage for local artists to show their work and to showcase the region's artistic talents.

Please note: The Ipswich Art Gallery is having a break after a busy few months, culminating in the popular Art Forms of Nature exhibition which closed last weekend. After planned roof repairs are completed, staff will be busy preparing for the next exhibition in the autumn. We will be bringing you details of this exciting event in the next few months.

How to find Ipswich Art Gallery, opening times and accessibility
Originally in a purpose-built late Victorian building, the functions of museum, library and gallery were combined. The library was removed in the early 20th century but the Art Gallery and the Museum continued to share premises into the 1970s.
Women 100 is a Government Equalities Office funded project that will celebrate 100 years of women getting the vote with an exhibition of women artists at Ipswich Art Gallery.
