The Planning Policy Team prepares and reviews a wide range of strategic planning documents, including the Ipswich Local Plan, which are used in the long-term planning of the Borough and in the determination of planning applications.

The Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015 requires local authorities as part of their statutory duties to keep and maintain registers of people who are interested in self-build or custom build housing projects in their area.
