Towns Fund

You are here

The Towns Fund is a scheme of funding that has been launched by the Government for towns such as Ipswich to boost economic productivity and support sustainable growth. Ipswich is one of the 101 towns across the country eligible to bid for the fund. A Town Deal Board has been established to help develop proposals for a Town Deal.

For more information about the scheme visit GOV.UK - Towns Fund Prospectus.

We are able to bid for up to £25m of funding to be spent over the next 5 years. The guidance available suggests that the projects should generally be within six categories:

  • Local transport
  • Digital connectivity
  • Urban regeneration, planning and land use
  • Arts, culture and heritage
  • Skills infrastructure
  • Enterprise infrastructure

The area associated with the Ipswich Town Fund bid is the Ipswich Borough Council area. This means that the projects seeking funding will need to be within the Borough boundary.

Further information about our Town Deal Board and the strategy and projects that will form part of our Town Investment Plan will be added to this page in due course.
