Overview

Bourne Park is a great open space with a play area and paddling pool. 

The summer season for the paddling pool has now come to an end and it is closed from Monday 8 September onwards, re-opening in May 2026.

The enclosed play area is for children aged up to 12 years.

With a beach theme, this play area can be enjoyed all year round - featuring a pirate ship and sand castle multi-climb frame, whale and penguin rocks, and a boat rocker. The surface is designed to look like the sea, with fish, crabs and a 3D shark.

The equipment is designed for disabled users with a roundabout suitable for wheelchairs and disabled swings.

There is also a picnic area with several wheelchair accessible picnic tables.

  • Paddling pool (open late May - early September)

Kiosk in Bourne Park

 

A kiosk selling drinks, snacks and ice cream next to the paddling pool is open from 11am to 4pm during the summer holidays and at weekends.

Bourne Park can be accessed via entrances at:

  • Wherstead Road (2-5 minute walk to play area)
  • Stoke Park Drive (10-15 minute to play area)

If you are a disabled driver the best entrance is Wherstead Road as it is closer to the play area/paddling pool where there are designated disabled parking bays.
