On 23 March 2022, Ipswich Borough Council adopted the Ipswich Local Plan Review 2018-2036, in accordance with Section 23 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and Regulations 17 and 26 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended). The Plan comprises the Core Strategy and Policies Development Plan Document (DPD) Review, the Site Allocations and Policies (Incorporating IP-One Area Action Plan) DPD Review, Policies Map and IP-One Area Action Plan Inset Policies Map.
The Adopted Ipswich Local Plan Review 2018–2036 covers Ipswich Borough and includes two DPDs and policies maps, which are available for download below:

Scope of the Ipswich Local Plan Review
This Ipswich Local Plan Review 2018-2036 supersedes the Ipswich Local Plan 2011 – 2030.
Core Strategy and Policies DPD Review
The adopted Core Strategy and Policies DPD Review is a strategic document setting out the vision, objectives and spatial planning strategy for the Borough of Ipswich up to 2036, and contains policies to facilitate sustainable development.
Site Allocations and Policies DPD Review
The Site Allocations and Policies (Incorporating IP-One Area Action Plan) DPD Review allocates sites for development and identifies sites or areas for protection across the whole of the Borough.
Policies Maps
The Policies Maps illustrate geographically the application of the policies in the adopted development plan.

Legal challenge
Any person aggrieved by the adoption of the Core Strategy and Policies DPD Review or the Site Allocations and Policies (Incorporating IP-One Area Action Plan) DPD Review may make an application to the High Court under Section 113 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended) on the grounds that the document is not within the appropriate power of the local planning authority and/or a procedural requirement has not been complied with. Any such application must be made not later than the end of the period of six weeks starting when the new Ipswich Local Plan 2018-2036, consisting of the Core Strategy and Policies DPD Review and the Site Allocations and Policies (Incorporating IP-One Area Action Plan) DPD Review, was adopted.
