Paying council bills at Payzones

Paying by cash

The easiest way to pay is by Direct Debit but if you want to pay by cash you can use a network of Post Offices and Payzone outlets across Ipswich, as you are no longer able to pay council bills in cash at the council office.

More residents are paying their council tax, rent and other bills automatically by Direct Debit or online but we recognise that some people prefer not to. That is why we are widening choice for cash payments at no cost.

The council prints barcodes on all its bills, reminders and other payment documents. Residents can then present these documents at Post Offices and Payzones with their payments. If you have opted to receive eBilling, your bill will not have a barcode and you will not be able to pay it in cash at the Post Office or Payzone.

You can still contact us for queries regarding your account.

What is Payzone?

Payzone is the most convenient way to pay your household bills, top up your mobile phone and make other payments, at your local shops.

Many Payzone retailers are open early morning to late at night, 7 days a week.
