What to do if you have lost your dog

If your dog goes missing, please report it to us and we will put the details of the dog on our register.

If we are notified that someone has found it, we will pass that information on to you.

If we match the details given with a dog that has already been collected, we will get in touch to arrange payment and collection of the dog from our dog warden / kennels.

What to do if you find a stray dog

Report a found dog

We operate a stray dog collection service between 08:30 and 21:00 Monday to Sunday (except 25th and 26th December, and 1st January). You can still report a stray dog outside of these hours and the details will be passed to the dog warden the following day.

Please report a stray dog using the online form, which will request the following information to help us search our records:

Your name and address
Your contact details
Description of the dog - the breed, colour and whether it is wearing a collar.
Where the dog was found, at what time and where it is being held.

Stray dog release fees

If the dog warden picks up a dog, they will endeavour to return the dog to the owner. This can only be done if it has a current tag or up-to-date microchip. A fee is charged for this service:

Minimum total release fee	£95	£149

Kennelling fees

If the dog has to be taken to kennels, an additional kennelling fee of £20 per day per dog applies, which is payable directly to the kennels. This is in addition to our stray dog release fees, as stated above.

All fees must be paid in full before the dog can be released to its owner.

Pay for stray dogs

Do ensure you make payment immediately so that arrangements to return your dog can be made. Any delays in making payment may lead to an increase in fees and a delay to the return of your dog.
