Art Science Life Exhibition closes next month

Published27th April 2016

There is only a month left to celebrate Ipswich Museum’s long relationship with both the arts and the sciences. Come along for free and explore the contemporary art installation called Art/Science/Life.

Artist Lucy Lyons worked in residence to create a new site-specific artwork inspired by the Museum’s Natural Science collections and this is on display in the Octagon Gallery at the former Art School next door in High Street.

Alongside the work from Lucy Lyons, there are creative responses from partner organisations Pacitti Company and New Wolsey Theatre, as well as from Lisa Temple-Cox, Ipswich Museum’s Artist Ranger.

The exhibition also provides a ‘Drawing Room’ in one of the small galleries, which offers a selection of Museum objects from the stores as inspiration and a range of drawing materials to work with. Visitors to the exhibition can use this space to draw and display their work. The gallery has slowly filled with artwork over the course of the exhibition, so come and create your own masterpiece. Free to all visitors to the exhibition and suitable for all ages.

Exhibition closing date: Sunday 29th May

Gallery opening times: Tuesday - Sunday, 10am - 5pm
