A major First World War exhibition is being held in Ipswich next month.
The free event at the Corn Exchange is part of a series of commemoration events being organised by the Borough Council and its partners. These began last year to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the conflict.
It is being held from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th April (from 10am) and will feature rare unseen exhibits of local and private collections, military hardware, medals, photos and letters from the front. Experts will be on hand to advise on ways of finding war records and explain about memorabilia.
The event will include an ANZAC parade with Sunday service at St Mary-le-Tower Church at 3pm, guided tours and a charity dinner on Saturday 25th April at 7pm at the Corn Exchange with eminent military historian Taff Gillingham as guest speaker. Dinner tickets cost £20.
