Ipswich Borough Council has launched a new Inward Investment initiative to help attract companies to invest in Ipswich.

A launch event, held at Ipswich Town Football Club (ITFC), in collaboration with Suffolk Chamber of Commerce saw over 60 businesses from around Ipswich come together to see first version of the new brochure: ‘Ipswich: Looking to Do Business With You’ launched.

This new initiative has been brought together by a partnership of public bodies and private sector organisations and outlines how Ipswich is ready to do business, providing great value for money and quality of life in a highly competitive market.

The keynote speaker at last night’s event was Mark Ashton, ITFC’s Chief Executive Officer, who spoke passionately about the reasons why Ipswich is a great place to invest.

Cllr David Ellesmere, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Property & Development, says:

I am really pleased to see the launch for the Inward Investment Brochure and want to thank everyone who has been involved in putting this together.

“We are incredibly proud of Ipswich and the investment we’ve attracted but this doesn’t mean we will rest on our laurels - we are committed to doing everything we can to continue developing Ipswich and attracting quality investments in what we all know to be a fantastic town.

“The Council’s economic team are on hand to provide support and advice to those wanting to start up businesses in Ipswich or relocate to our town and I would encourage those who are interested to take a look at our brochure and get in touch with them.”

Catherine Johnson, President of Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, says:

It was great to officially launch the Inward Investment Brochure with both existing and potential Ipswich businesses.

“This brochure sets out the very best of Ipswich and will go a long way to attracting investment within the town which will boost the economy and provide a whole host of benefits for the people of Ipswich and the areas around.

“From its location to connectivity and access, Ipswich is a prime hotspot for growing businesses and this funding will go a long way into helping to develop Ipswich to the fullest potential.”

Mark Ashton, Chief Executive of Ipswich Town Football Club, says:

“I am incredibly passionate about Ipswich and everything that it has to offer not only to its residents and visitors, but for businesses too and it was a pleasure to speak on this as the keynote speaker at the launch event last night.”
