The final stage of the Local Plan process is underway and Ipswich Borough Council is inviting residents, businesses and developers to have their say on some proposed modifications to the draft Plan.

The Local Plan, which is aligned with those of neighbouring councils, sets out how development will take place in Ipswich over the next 16 years.

Following a public examination hearing that saw independent Inspectors examine Ipswich’s planning blueprint, the Council were advised to make a series of modifications to make the Plan legally compliant and sound.

Before the Plan can be approved the Council need to consult on these modifications.

The consultation will run from 29 July until 23 September 2021 and you can have your say online: www.ipswich.gov.uk/mainmodifications.

Councillor Carole Jones, Ipswich Borough Council’s planning portfolio holder, said: “Once approved, this plan will help guide the sustainable growth of Ipswich - something that affects us all – this final phase of consultation is a key step in the process of getting the plan adopted.”
