Local businesses invited to take part in September Ipswich Weekender

Published4th August 2023

Ipswich businesses are being invited to take part in the September Ipswich Weekender at the Waterfront.

The September Ipswich Weekender on 23 and 24 September promises to be packed with live music, fantastic food and drink, fairground rides and lots of fun activities.

Ipswich residents as well as new and existing students and visitors will have the opportunity to explore what Ipswich has to offer and find out more about activities, including trails, art galleries, museums, and local businesses.

To support businesses to take part in the event, Ipswich Borough Council is providing funding for businesses to host a stall during the weekend.

£250 in funding and a promotional stand will be available to businesses to advertise their organisation during the weekend.

The funding can be applied for through Ipswich Borough Council’s Economic Development team.

Councillor Neil MacDonald, Ipswich Borough Council Leader, and Portfolio Holder for Place, says: “The September Ipswich Weekender promises to bring the very best of Ipswich to our iconic waterfront.

Organised with the University of Suffolk, we want to ensure students and visitors experience everything that Ipswich has to offer, so we’re providing support to help local businesses to promote their work.

Our first two weekenders have proven to be successful in boosting visitor numbers and providing activities that all the community can enjoy in the centre of town, so this next event is set to be a fantastic platform for local businesses to showcase their work.”

Businesses interested in taking part have until Friday 25 August to apply.
