Civic Service in Ipswich to celebrate the King’s Coronation

A Civic Service to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla Queen Consort took place at St Mary Le Tower Church, Ipswich on Friday 5 May at 7:30pm, with Ipswich residents invited to attend.

Ahead of the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday 6 May, the Civic Service in the Town Centre Church was attended by the Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor John Cook and Mark Pendlington, High Sheriff of Suffolk, who processed to the Church from Ipswich Town Hall in official robes at 7.15pm.

The service offered Ipswich residents the chance to come together to officially start celebrations for the Coronation weekend at a special service, led by Reverend Tom Mumford.

St Mary Le Tower Church can be found in Tower Street, Ipswich Town Centre. All Ipswich residents were welcome to attend the service, with seating at the church allocated on a first come, first served basis.
