Ipswich Weekender Festival Countdown

Published15th September 2023

Ipswich is getting ready for the autumn Ipswich Weekender Festival at the Waterfront on the 23 and 24 September.

The free family friendly event, organised by Ipswich Borough Council, in partnership with the University of Suffolk, will feature live music and entertainment, fairground rides, food and drink, a market, and stalls operated by local businesses.

Celebrating Freshers’ Week for new students, the University will be hosting spoken word performances from 10am on Saturday. Also, throughout the weekend, Stephen Foster will host his Weekend Music Mix with performances from Connor Adams, Lucky No.7, Kev Walford, Blues Situation, and many more great acts!

The two-day event showcasing Ipswich to new university students and Ipswich residents alike will take place from 10am to 9pm on the Saturday and 12pm to 6pm on the Sunday.

Councillor Neil MacDonald, Ipswich Borough Council Leader says:

“We’re excited to be hosting our third Ipswich Weekender of the year, bringing a wide range of entertainment to residents and visitors in the thriving waterfront area.

Working with the University this event has been timed to coincide with Freshers’ Week for new students, to welcome new students and visitors as well as bring residents together to celebrate all that Ipswich has to offer.”
