Ipswich Borough Council’s galleries and museums will benefit from money awarded to the Colchester and Ipswich Museums Services by the Culture Recovery Fund.
The fund from the government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport and that is administered by Arts Council England, helps cultural bodies ‘face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure they have a sustainable future.’ Ipswich Borough Council has been awarded a total of £14,408 to help with these activities until March 2021.
A spokesperson for Ipswich Borough Council said, “We look forward to using this grant until March to support our schools' programme as well as push fundraising for Ipswich Museum, Ipswich Art Gallery and Christchurch Mansion”.
