Safer park

New safety gates at Ipswich’s Murray Park have been officially opened.

The five gates are “self closing” and are designed to prevent children or dogs running out of the park and into the busy road.

The gates, which were funded by Ipswich Borough Council’s South East Area Committee, were opened by committee chair Councillor Sarah Barber and Friends of Murray Park chair Sue Bird.

They are pictured with local residents and councillors after a litter-pick of the park.
