Your council open over Christmas

Published20th December 2021

Ipswich Borough Council is open for business to help you over the festive break.

HEARS and emergencies

The Ipswich HEARS and CCTV emergency centre staff are on duty 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, so it is no change for them over Christmas.

Bin collections

There will be no changes to black and blue bin collections over Christmas and New Year. However, as usual, we will be pausing the brown bin service for 2 weeks after Christmas as the Council puts all its effort into collecting extra waste and recycling materials

The last brown bin collections for 2021 will take place between 14 and 24 December. There will be no brown bin collections on or between 28 December 2021 and 10 January 2022. Collections will resume on 11 January - don't forget to leave your real Christmas tree by your brown bin as the Council will collect it for free.
