Employers are being encouraged to sign up for the next Ipswich Jobs and Careers Fair which will take place on 15 March 2023 at Ipswich Town Hall.

The last jobs fair in October 2022, run by Ipswich Borough Council in conjunction with Ipswich Jobcentre, was extremely successful with more than 700 people attending.

Over 150 people secured interviews with potential employers after attending this event, with one employer giving jobs to eight people the day after interviewing them!

52 employers attended the autumn 2022 event including EDF and G4S for Sizewell C, Suffolk New College Apprenticeships, Premier Inn, East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust, Suffolk Fire Service, and Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies/Police Specials.

Councillor David Ellesmere, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Property, says:

“I am really pleased to hear the success stories which have followed on from the Ipswich Jobs and Careers Fair. These events are incredibly valuable, not only for those out there looking for employment opportunities within the local area, but for prospective employers seeking out new talent.

“The job offers, interviews accepted, and attendance numbers all demonstrate the resounding success of these events, and we are very much looking forward to hosting the next jobs fair in March 2023.”

David Walford from Ipswich Jobcentre, adds:

“Feedback from businesses highlighted the diverse mix of people and the very good selection of candidates who attended the busy well organised event. Working in partnership with the council proved very successful and Jobcentre Plus is looking forward to organising similar events in the future. Our joint activity enabled us to reach a wider audience and attract more employers to the event.”
