Community art project at Holywells

Published1st February 2017

Ipswich’s Oyster Community Press is seeking 20 Asian and British women living in the Holywells area to take part in a My Place project.

The organisers said: “Our aim is to help women feel less isolated and more in touch with each other and their community and to find a way of expressing themselves through art.”

The women will learn print-making over a seven-week period and have their work exhibited at DanceEast. The project is free and no previous experience is necessary.

Taking part involves a commitment to attend one weekly half-day workshop in the Conservatory in Holywells Park. The women will work in small groups either on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning to suit them, commencing on 28th February and continuing to 13th April.
