New council housing in Ravenswood to be ready next year

Published5th July 2023

The construction of new homes in Ravenswood is progressing well, with 67 council properties set to be available on the Ipswich council housing register next year.

An update report to Ipswich Borough Council’s Executive advises that these new homes will be available for rent by the end of 2024.

In addition, work to construct 30 new flats in Fore Hamlet on the former Hope Church site, and new homes on the former Diesco site in Hawke Road are also progressing well, due for completion in 2025. Bibb Way will also see many new homes and flats completed in 2025.

Councillor Alasdair Ross, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Housing says:

“The development of new affordable housing remains a priority for Ipswich Borough Council. We are enabling hundreds of new homes to be built in Ipswich in the next few years.

With new homes in Grimwade Street and the former Tooks Bakery site complete, and with the increasing demand for affordable housing locally, I look forward to completion of more homes in Ravenswood, and other sites around Ipswich by 2025.”
