1,000th repair booked through Council’s online repair service

Ipswich Borough Council is celebrating the 1,000th online repair booking made using the Council’s online repair portal.

Tenants living in Council properties can book repairs quickly and easily online after setting up a housing online account.

Since going live in June 2023, the new online portal has received 1,000 bookings for repairs, with repair appointments offered immediately.

Repairs to taps, electrical fittings and windows are the most common types of repairs requested by tenants, with the most popular day for booking an online repair on Mondays.

Councillor Alasdair Ross, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Housing, says:

“The housing repairs online service is something we’re encouraging tenants to use which enables them to quickly inform our maintenance team of a repair 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and every day of the year.

In 2023, 21,000 repairs were carried out by the Council’s maintenance and repairs team.

By encouraging residents to book repairs online, residents can access the support much easier and at a more convenient time that suits them.”

Any tenant with a Housing Online account can access this service which can be registered online.
