The latest testing information shows a large rise in positive coronavirus cases in Ipswich. Residents and businesses must act now to reduce the spread of the coronavirus if we are to avoid people becoming ill as well as the possibility of further restrictions being necessary in the town after the end of the national lockdown.

Ipswich Borough Council has welcomed the announcement by the Living Wage Foundation that the Real Living Wage will increase to £9.50 an hour and confirmed that all directly employed staff are already earning more than the current Living Wage.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 31 October, the Council is planning for a new national lockdown from 5 November 2020. As a result, we will be closing many of our public facilities until the end of the lockdown and restrictions are lifted.

The much-anticipated Power of Stories exhibition, which includes a display of sensational costumes from the hit film Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, will now open from 3 April to 29 August 2021. Due to coronavirus restrictions, the exhibition was unable to open in July as planned.
