If you have a problem with a council service, you should first complain to the council and follow their complaints procedure.
If you are still not satisfied, the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman may be able to help. The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman looks at complaints about councils and some other authorities and organisations. It is a free service, and their job is to investigate complaints in a fair and independent way - they do not take sides.
The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has published a code which can be found here.
